Libertarians
believe in liberty on all the issues. They believe in personal freedoms,
civil liberties, and economic freedoms, whereas the Republicans want to control
many social freedoms, and Democrats want to control many economic freedoms.

MeetUp!
Our
next meeting will be Tuesday, April 15, 2008 @ 6 pm.
Guest Speaker Rick
Wagner will discuss
commonalities between traditional conservatism and libertarianism.
Mr. Wagner is a local attorney who writes a column for the GJ Daily
Sentinel. He is a former District Attorney and Deputy Sheriff for Mesa
County.
Registered Libertarians in Mesa County are urged to attend. To advance the libertarian views in our local government, we need to run local Libertarian candidates. To do this, we are required to incorporate bylaws & register our local affiliate. This requires registered Libertarians to attend the meeting on April 15 and raise your hand to agree we should move forward. It is a small, necessary step.
Given the date of the meeting, taxes are inevitably on your mind. After the formal meeting we will have a freeform discussion about taxes and alternatives like the Fair Tax and flat tax proposals.
Newcomers are welcome. Meeting location is Community Room at Goodwill Industries (map). 630 24 1/2 Rd., Grand Junction. For questions, contact Trish at this website by email or phone 639-5448.
In March, Mesa County Libertarians had an informal meeting at Red Robin. . . (more)
Special note to Ron Paul supporters. Are You Being Represented?
Yes,
there is an alternative to Republicrats and Demipublicans. Many people choose their politics based on a family tradition
instead of personal beliefs. Are all your convictions represented by your
political party? Take the World's
Smallest Political Quiz to find your true political home.
Libertarians believe that today's politicians should more closely follow the U.S. Constitution and the intentions of our founding fathers.
The Libertarian Party focuses on three concepts:
- Individual Liberty
- Personal Responsibility
- Limited Government
Does this resonate with you? Join us for a short meeting to learn more. We are now planning next month's meeting.
